Welcome to Hope Harvest!
Hope Harvest was formed with the intention of alleviating hunger in Northeast Georgia and reducing the dependence of local food banks and hunger initiatives on public charitable contributions. We are all aware of what is going on in our economy these days, and because of these changes, charitable contributions have dropped off dramatically, leaving many food banks with empty shelves and many people with empty bellies!

February
Thanks to Jana Mitcham and the Jackson Herald for the excellent feature they published on Hope Harvest. Check it out in the February 11th edition!
It's almost volunteer time! Within the next few weeks, we'll be calling on our volunteers to come out and lend a hand. We'll have several volunteer opportunities available for anyone who wants to come out and get their hands dirty. Kristi will need help with planting, weeding, and mulching; we'll also be building our tomato cages and cucumber trellises. But before any of that can happen, we need to lay out our rows. So grab a hoe and some gloves and come on out! Contact Kristi for more information!
January
The big news lately is our new website! Take a look around and get to know us. But please bear in mind, it's a work in progress, so check back frequently for updates!
Spring is just around the corner in our neck of the woods and that means there's alot of work to be done. We'll be starting off our 2009 spring gardening season in February when we start our tomatoes and eggplant off in the growroom. Things are moving long quite nicely for us with new opportunities popping up everyday. We are currently in talks with two local food banks and plan to start providing these folks with fresh produce as soon as spring has sprung.
Thank you to those of you who have already donated time and money. If it weren't for your support, Hope Harvest would not be where it is today!
